Tourists will know Cusco attractions using a helicopter

Within a few weeks, tourists visiting the city of Cusco will be able to opt for a helicopter transfer service with which they will fly over the imperial city and in 75 minutes reach Ollantaytambo or other destinations such as the Citadel of Choquequirao and the Sacred Valley.

They will do it on board the Bell 429 helicopter of the company Heliamérica, a ship that has two engines, which will give greater security to passengers who fly over the imposing Inca city. The vehicle stands out for its design that incorporates carbon fiber in structural areas and also for its state-of-the-art glass cockpit.
“We are experts in air operations and as a helicopter company we have a strategic alliance with the tourism company Machupicchu Group and with tourism managers who will contact visitors with the company,” said Dionisio Farías Campos, general manager of Heliamérica.
For example, the route to the Sacred Valley will have an approximate flight of 60 minutes. In each trip six passengers will go, which will fly over the Cusco square, the fortress of Sacsayhuamán, the Pampas de Anta, Huaypo lagoon and Piuray; they will visit the snowy Salkantay, the Salineras de Maras, the Terraces of Moray, the pyramid of Pakaritampu, the snowy Veronica and Chicón; Pisaq, Tambomachay.

“In the city of Cusco we are going to attend the tourism sector mainly, and also some companies in the hydrocarbons sector. However, information about the arrival of the helicopter has caused interest among mining companies and we already have demonstration flights scheduled, ”Farías said.

They expect that at the end of this year they can fly an approximate 30 hours per month, that is, have daily clients that take this service. It all depends on whether the weather conditions allow the normal displacement of the ship.
